Inherit the Red Gene and Bravely Shoulder the Mission of the Times

To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, closely align with the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and inspire all Party members to uphold their ideals and convictions and remain true to their original aspiration and mission, the Party Branch of Wuchan Daofu organized a Party-member activity from October 31 to November 2, taking its members to Huangshan in Anhui Province under the theme “Inheriting the Red Gene and Bravely Shouldering the Mission of the Times.”

Revisiting Revolutionary History and Reflecting on Our Original Aspiration and Mission
On the first day of the event, Party members arrived in Huizhou District of Huangshan City and visited the Memorial Hall of the Former Headquarters of the New Fourth Army in Yanshi.
In 1938, revolutionary pioneers such as Ye Ting and Xiang Ying reorganized the New Fourth Army here, igniting the prairie fire of the army’s eastward advance to resist Japan. Party members paused before the exhibits at the former headquarters site, where, through a series of historical artifacts and precious photographs, they revisited the glorious journey of the New Fourth Army soldiers’ heroic struggle during the War of Resistance Against Japan, thereby further strengthening their ideals, convictions, and sense of mission and responsibility.
Subsequently, the Party members visited the Qiankou Traditional Residences and the ancient town of Chengkan. The Qiankou Residences showcase representative Huizhou architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, while the ancient town of Chengkan, a well-preserved millennium-old village, exudes a distinctive charm and profound cultural heritage, enabling the Party members to appreciate the vastness and depth of China’s fine traditional culture.
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee emphasized the vigorous development of cultural undertakings and the enhancement of the reach and influence of Chinese civilization, prompting Party members to recognize the responsibilities they bear. In light of the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, they stated that they will draw on the strength of traditional culture, bolster cultural confidence, and, through concrete actions, carry forward and promote cultural heritage, thereby contributing to the development of both the company and society.
The following day, Party members visited the Anhui Provincial Base for Integrity Education—the Huizhou Prefectural Government Office. Through cultural artifacts such as couplets and plaques, they gained a profound understanding of the ancient virtuous officials’ commitment to integrity and incorruptibility. In light of the requirements set forth at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee to strengthen integrity-building, this activity reinforced Party members’ awareness of self-discipline and ethical conduct. As the 15th Five-Year Plan draws near, it also provides historical lessons and practical guidance for maintaining integrity and uprightness in the new era.


Hongcun Village is a quintessential embodiment of Huizhou culture, bearing witness to nearly a millennium of local development and transformation. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee underscored the need to steadily advance the all-round revitalization of rural areas and to build livable, work-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing countryside. Party members have taken Hongcun as a living classroom, conducting on-site inspections and study tours to gain a deeper understanding of its historical trajectory. They expressed their commitment to drawing strength from this experience and actively contributing their wisdom to the rural revitalization initiatives outlined in the forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan.

During the event, Party members gained a profound understanding of the essence of the “red spirit.” In light of the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, participants unanimously expressed their commitment to taking the spirit of the plenary session as their guiding principle, staying true to their respective posts, boldly shouldering heavy responsibilities, and contributing to the company’s development and national construction.

During the event, Shen Lixia, Chairperson and Party Secretary of Wuchan Zhongda International, and Yuan Wenjiong, General Manager of Wuchan Daofu, delivered vivid keynote speeches to the attending Party members. Centered on the theme of “Inheriting the Red Gene and Bravely Shouldering the Mission of the Times,” the speeches drew on the Party’s history and current work realities to provide an in-depth exposition of how Party members can exemplify pioneering and exemplary conduct in the new era. With regard to the 15th Five-Year Plan, the speeches emphasized that Party members must enhance their capabilities and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, while the company, for its part, should begin planning at an early stage to formulate a next five-year plan that is well aligned with its own circumstances.

Subsequently, Zhou Na, Secretary of the Party Branch of Wuchan Daofu, summarized and emphasized that Party members must internalize the essential spirit of the speech and translate their sense of mission into a driving force for their daily work. She further stressed that the entire company must build consensus and, guided by a clear five-year plan, steadily embark on a new journey. Party members listened attentively and engaged actively, all expressing their commitment to turning the spirit of the speech into concrete actions that will support the company’s high-quality development.

On the final day of the event, Party members visited Hongcun to tour its rural revitalization education site.
