At the outset of the event, a museum docent provided a detailed overview of the Grand Canal’s geographical layout, historical evolution, and its pivotal role in Chinese history. Party members listened attentively, gaining a deeper understanding of the unique charm and profound cultural depth of the Grand Canal.

Subsequently, the group toured four exhibition halls: “The Excavation and Evolution of the Grand Canal,” “The Utilization of the Grand Canal,” “The Nomination of the Zhejiang Section of the Grand Canal for World Heritage Status,” and “Canal Culture.” From ancient grain-carrying vessels and bustling canal ports to modern shipping technologies and the thriving canal economic belt, each exhibit vividly showcases the Grand Canal’s glorious history and rich cultural heritage. Party members were able to immerse themselves in the canal’s profound and time-honored cultural essence, gaining a deep appreciation for the labor wisdom and cultural confidence demonstrated by the Chinese people across different historical periods, and personally experiencing the enduring vitality and indomitable spirit that the Chinese nation has embodied throughout its long journey of development.

This joint Party-building initiative has further deepened the cooperative relationship between the bank and the enterprise, strengthened exchanges in Party building and business operations, and enabled Party members from both organizations to gain a profound appreciation of the unique charm and rich cultural heritage of the Grand Canal.

Participants unanimously expressed that they would take this event as an opportunity to continuously enhance their learning, bravely assume responsibility, and take proactive action, striving to become steadfast supporters and active practitioners of the inheritance and protection of Grand Canal culture. They pledged to keep firmly in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instruction that “the Grand Canal is a precious legacy left to us by our ancestors—a living cultural heritage—and must be comprehensively protected, effectively passed down, and wisely utilized.” Drawing strength from the cause of protecting, inheriting, and leveraging canal culture, they committed to performing their duties with dedication, strengthening their sense of mission and responsibility, and continuing to contribute to the enterprise’s high-quality transformation and development.
