Xi Jinping Issues Important Instructions on the Ideological and Moral Development of Minors

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently issued important instructions on the ideological and moral development of minors. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee has attached great importance to this work and has adopted a range of measures to achieve new progress and tangible results in all related efforts.

Xi Jinping emphasized that, on the new journey ahead, it is essential to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and cultivating talent, steadfastly regard the ideological and moral development of minors as a strategic and foundational undertaking, and consistently use the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to consolidate their roots and forge their souls. We must improve the coordinated mechanism for education involving schools, families, and society, educate and guide the broad ranks of minors to set lofty ideals, practice the core socialist values, develop sound moral character and positive behavioral habits, and strive to become well-rounded socialist builders and successors who excel in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and vocational development. Party committees and governments at all levels should strengthen organizational leadership, while relevant departments and mass organizations should conscientiously perform their duties and responsibilities, working together to create a favorable social environment for the healthy growth of minors.
