The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Held a Meeting, Presided Over by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee


On January 30, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting to review the “Comprehensive Report on the Hearings and Studies Conducted by the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee into the Work Reports of the Party Groups of the NPC Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, as well as the Work Report of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee.” Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting.
The meeting fully commended the work of the Party Groups of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, as well as that of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, for 2025, and approved their work plans for 2026. The meeting noted that over the past year, the five Party Groups steadfastly upheld Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guiding principle, resolutely safeguarded the authority of the Party Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership, conscientiously implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the successive plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, closely focused on the overall work of the Party and the country to perform their respective functions, and effectively strengthened their own institutional development, thereby making positive contributions to the smooth completion of the year’s major goals and tasks and to the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Under the leadership of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee has rigorously implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, diligently fulfilled its duties and responsibilities, and carried out extensive work in such areas as completing tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee, strengthening the building of the Party’s internal regulations and systems, providing guidance and impetus for the work of mass organizations, and addressing formalism to alleviate the burden on grassroots-level cadres and institutions.
The meeting emphasized that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The five Party leading groups must be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, uphold the centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee, and ensure full and rigorous implementation of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee as well as the Party Central Committee’s decisions and arrangements for this year’s work. They should adhere to the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, focus on the major strategic tasks for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and strive to achieve a strong start. At the same time, they must strengthen their own Party building, conscientiously fulfill their principal responsibility for exercising full and rigorous self-governance, and take the lead in fostering and practicing a correct view of political achievements. The Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee is tasked with, in light of the arrangements and requirements set forth by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, focusing on its duties to ensure the effective implementation of key tasks and to complete, to a high standard, all assignments entrusted by the Party Central Committee.
