Seeking Wisdom at Siming Mountain
Relaxing Leisurely at Mogan Mountain

DAO FORTUNE

To enrich employees’ cultural and spiritual lives and strengthen team cohesion, Dao Fortune Co., Ltd. recently organized its 2026 employee recuperation and wellness program. The program was conducted in four batches. In the first two batches, employees visited Yuyao, Ningbo, and Deqing, Huzhou, respectively, relaxing body and mind and nourishing their spirits amid the local natural scenery and cultural heritage.

A Visit to Wang Yangming’s Hometown

01

The first batch of the recuperation and wellness program officially kicked off on August 26 under the theme “Following in the Footsteps of Sages and Experiencing the Craftsmanship of Intangible Cultural Heritage,” heading for Mount Siming in Yuyao, Ningbo.

Everyone first visited the Former Residence of Wang Yangming. This Ming-dynasty official-gentry residence in eastern Zhejiang, covering approximately 5,000 square meters, is now a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. Standing in front of Ruiyun Tower—the birthplace of Wang Yangming—and viewing the rich displays of historical photographs and artifacts, everyone gained a deeper understanding of the life of this great thinker, educator, and military strategist, as well as the wisdom of his School of Mind.

In addition, everyone stayed at the culturally rich Yuyao Yangming Guantang Hotel. The hotel features three ancient buildings relocated from Ningbo, Lanxi, and Jinhua—Gengdu Hall, Sixi Hall, and Chengqing Hall. All are fine examples of Ming and Qing woodcarving craftsmanship, dating back 300 to 500 years. Guided by the hotel’s professional staff, everyone strolled through the ancient building complex and experienced firsthand the weight of historical architecture and the elegance of Jiangnan-style gardens.

During the event, everyone also took part in a variety of hands-on DIY experiences. As it was the Year of the Horse, they made Year of the Horse bamboo weaving by hand, experiencing the charm of traditional bamboo weaving through alternating over-and-under motions. Pearl painting let creativity blossom at their fingertips, while sachet making allowed everyone to experience the fun of traditional folk customs stitch by stitch. They also personally made Liangnong Dagao, a distinctive intangible cultural heritage delicacy from Yuyao. Sieving the flour, carving out hollows, adding filling, covering with flour, and stamping the cakes... after a series of meticulous steps, the square, soft, and glutinous rice cakes came fresh out of the steamer. Tasting the fruits of their own labor, everyone found them especially sweet and fragrant.

This trip to Mount Siming organically integrated cultural immersion with hands-on experiences. At Wang Yangming’s former residence, employees engaged in dialogue with the wisdom of sages; among the ancient buildings, they felt the warmth of history; and through intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, they experienced the spirit of craftsmanship. Away from work, they slowed down, enriching their inner world while deepening mutual communication and rapport.

A Restful Stay at Mount Mogan

02

The second batch of the recuperation and wellness program began on September 9, with everyone heading to Mount Mogan in Deqing.

After enjoying lunch and taking a short rest, everyone strolled along mountain paths or gazed into the distance from the windows, taking in the tranquility and coolness of Mount Mogan. In the evening, they went together to Yucun Cultural Market, wandering through a street area with Republican-era charm. Among cultural and creative shops and art galleries, they took photos, strolled, and enjoyed drinks, spending a pleasant evening.

The next day, everyone ventured into the core scenic area of Mount Mogan. At Sword Pool, they looked up at the three-tiered waterfall and listened to the legend of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye forging swords. They strolled through Luhuadang Park and explored the Republican-era building complex in Wuling Village, visiting Songyue Cottage and Baiyun Mountain Lodge. The mottled stone walls and vintage window lattices silently told stories of bygone years. That evening, they tasted Deqing’s intangible cultural heritage cuisine, experiencing the cultural richness of this small Jiangnan town on their taste buds.

On the third day of the itinerary, everyone took a boat through the crisscrossing waterways of Xiazhu Lake Wetland Park. Reeds swayed and egrets fluttered, unfolding before them like a Jiangnan ink-wash painting. After the tour, they enjoyed lunch together, with laughter and cheerful conversation throughout the meal.

The final day of the trip was mainly for relaxation and rest. Everyone slept until they woke naturally, strolled in the mountains, or sipped tea on the terrace, leisurely enjoying the quiet moments. After lunch, they set off for home full of wonderful memories.
